What is Tae Kwon Moo Do?

What is Tae Kwon Moo Do?

Tae Kwon Moo Do is result of an evolution of centuries old Martial Arts, an unarmed fighting style developed by people in the ancient Orient who needed to protect themselves from their enemies. This art has slowly taken shape until today it employs the most advanced knowledge of the body and scientific techniques of modern physical education.  The Korean words can translate to "The Martial Art Way of Smashing with the Foot and Fist"

Tae Kwon Moo Do Training consists of the following 3 disciplines

Tae Kwon-Do: unarmed fighting techniques that involve the skilled use of flying kicks, punches, blocks & evasive maneuvers that can, when necessary, rapidly and conclusively immobilize an assailant.

Hap Ki Do: is a Korean Martial Art specializing in self-defence. It consists of knowledge of pressure points, throws and holds. Weapon techniques are also learned such as staff, short stick & creative weapons.

Gum Do: is the Korean Way of the Sword

What/Who is Chung Oh's School of Tae Kwon Moo Do?

Grand Master Chung W. Oh is the founder and President and now has his 9th Dan Black Belt in the Korean martial arts Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do.  Grand Master Oh trained under General Choi Hong Hi, the founder of Tae Kwon Do himself, and continues to grow a prosperous business in the art based from Kitchener, Ontario, Incheon, South Korea and several locations in southern Ontario

The people of Chung Oh's School of Tae Kwon Moo Do are very friendly, and, as part of the Tae Kwon Do way, we are family. Every new member of the school is warmly welcomed, and should be treated as a family member.  We are together to share our knowledge, create a positive community and learn from eachother.  A competitive spirit is favoured, but Tae kwon Do competition is primarily the competition to oneself.  Competition with others is only to motivate one another to better the self.

Our aim is to help our students improve in body, mind and spirit, gain self confidence and motivate you to acheive a personal fitness level you never thought to be possible.
